Osun State Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola has again reiterated that the Archives of Ulli Beier are in Osogbo, Osun State Capital and not with the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library,(OOPL) Abeokuta.

The Governor, stated this while answering questions from newsmen after declaring open a three-day retreat for senior police officers across the country at the Miccom Golf Hotel,Ada Osun State.

Prince Oyinlola, who described Prof.Wole Soyinka as a “Nobel liar” for telling the world that the Archives had been given to the OOPL, Abeokuta explained that some volumes of the Archival materials were in Osogbo already.

The Ulli Beier Archives as shown to the media on Sunday night in Osogbo contained materials on virtually all areas of human knowledge cutting across the arts and the sciences.

He added that the materials in question were part of the heritage of the people of Osun State which he would not give out to any other place and that the understanding with Beier was that the materials would be in Osogbo.

Prince Oyinlola wondered why Prof. Soyinka would tell “such a lie” without cross-checking facts with those who know the correct situation of things.

The Governor added that structures at the Centre for Black Culture and International Understanding that would house the Archives in Osogbo would be ready before the end of September this year.
