OSUN PROMISES SUPPORT FOR MEDIA AWARDS
The Nigeria Media Merit Awards ceremony coming up in two weeks time in Osun State will receive maximum support from the state Government, Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola has promised.
Prince Oyinlola told the Chairman and members of the Board of Trustees of the NMMA who paid him a visit in Osogbo on Friday that his administration would cooperate fully with the organisers of the event to make it a success.
He said Osun state is known as a media-friendly state and would make the two-day event a memorable one for participants.
The governor, who said the state had already put in place necessary arrangements to make the event successful charged the organisers to maintain close contacts with the government for a hitch-free event.
Earlier, Alhaji Alade Odunewu, Chaiman of the Board of Trustees of the NMMA had told the governor that Osun was chosen as the host of the event this year on behalf of the south west.
He praised the efforts of the Oyinlola administration at delievering dividends of democracy to the people while adding that the media awards would further educate the press on Osun state affairs.
Alhaji Odunewu, who was accompanied by Ambassador Segun Olusola, Dr May Nzeribe and other trustees and officials of the NMMA, described the event as the greatest media event in the country.
He thanked the Osun State Government for agreeing to host the event while further seeking assistance from the government to make it a success.
