Osun State Parliament  on the 15th November, 2007 approved proposed adjustments by way of redistribution of budgetary provisions in order to make for the inadequacy of budgetary provision in respect of the Consolidated Revenue Fund Charges.

The Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola had written the house in a correspondence dated 13th November, 2007 requesting the parliament to approve the proposed virement.

According to the approval, N500,000,000 budgeted for the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission has been adjusted to N350,000,000, the N150,000,000 there from is to be moved to Consolidated Revenue Charges.

Also, the budgetary provision for the maintenance of vehicles and capital assets in the Office of the Governor has been reduced from N150,000,000 to N50,000,000. The excess N100,000,000 there from is also to be moved to Consolidated Revenue Fund Charges, thereby increasing the fund from 1,100,000,000 to N1,350,000,000.

In his comments the Speaker, Hon Adejare Bello said the governor has again demonstrated his respect for laws and procedures by requesting legislative back-up for virement.

Hon Adejare Bello said Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, has over the years maintained a transparent disposition in the handling of finances.

The motion for the approval was moved by the majority leader Hon Akin Adeyemi and seconded by Hon Gbadebo Oyejide.
