Chinese authorities have said they are prepared to assist Osun State Government in the development of the Living Spring Free Trade Zone in Osogbo.
Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola got the commitment while having official discussions with the President of Shanghai Free Trade Zone, Mr. Gian .D. Nian in Shanghai, China on Thursday.
Mr. Nian who said China was enthusiastic about getting involved in Osun State’s own Free Trade Zone said two managers from his own organisation would visit Osogbo soon to inspect the site of the Living Spring Free Trade Zone.
Prince Oyinlola, who is currently on an official visit to China said he was at Shanghai Free Trade Zone to seek further support for the development of the industrial sector in Osun State.
He told his hosts that plans had reached an advanced stage for the commencement of the first phase of the Living Spring Free Trade Zone before April this year.
The governor told the Chinese investors that coming to Osun State to do business would readily open up the West African market for them to explore its potentials.
He said the secured environment in Osun State coupled with its location and political will of the leadership are factors they should consider in investing the state’s economy.
