OYINLOLA MOURNS PA ADESANYA
Osun State Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola has described the death of Afenifere leader, Pa Abraham Adesanya as a great loss to the Yoruba nation and Nigeria.
In a statement issued in Osogbo on Sunday, Prince Oyinlola, who stated that Pa Adesanya lived a very fruitful life of service, stressed that his courageous leadership, honesty and forthrightness would be missed by the nation.
While the governor described him as a genuine Awoist who never preached what he did not practice in politics, he added that with his death, the Awo political family and, indeed, Yorubaland had lost a formidable and fearless leader.
“One big lesson the life of this great man has taught us is that we should live our lives in such a way that at our death, the whole world would be unanimous in declaring that a man of principle, fearless in action and in speech is gone.
“He was as loving of truth as he was unsparing of hypocritical politicians. His was a resolute voice of reason even when money and power silenced many others. Pa Adesanya has fought a good fight. It is left for those of us he left behind to keep the flag flying. May his soul rest in perfect peace,” Prince Oyinlola stated.
