Osun State Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, has expressed satisfaction with the proceedings at the state election petition tribunal.
Answering questions from newsmen on Wednesday after witnessing the sitting of the tribunal, Governor Oyinlola said from what he saw at the sitting on Wednesday, he was satisfied that due legal process was being followed.
The governor, who said he had implicit confidence in the ability of the tribunal to do justice to all parties in the case stressed that no one should do anything to pre-empt the outcome of the litigation.
He commended the conduct of all witnesses and counsel who appeared in the case on Wednesday.
Witnesses who testified for the governor on Wednesday were drawn from Ife East and Odo Otin local government areas with all of them denying that they participated in violence and electoral irregularities.
An attempt by Counsel to the Action Congress, Mr. Charles Edosonwon, SAN to make one of the witnesses give oral testimony on a voters register was objected to by Kunle Kalejaye SAN, Counsel to Governor Oyinlola.
Chairman of the tribunal, Justice Thomas Naron while sustaining the objection ruled that it was trite law that oral evidence on such an exhibit which was already before the court could not be taken.
