Aregbesola Has Utilised Osun Resources Properly – Osun Assembly
The State of Osun House of Assembly has expressed its confidence that the state governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, is utilising the resources of the state to better the lots of the people of the state.
It reassured the governor of its cooperation and support, saying that Aregbesola has convinced the House and the entire people of the state on why he should be the governor of the state beyond four years.
The Chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Honourable Kamil Oyedele, gave the assurance of the House on Tuesday during the appearance of the Office of Chief of Staff to the Governor before the committee for the 2013 budget performance review.
He said: “Mr Governor still has the assurance of this House for our highest cooperation and that we are solidly behind him, because he has convinced us on the reason why he should continue to be the governor of this state.
“He has restored our lost glory and it is no longer a gainsaying that Aregbesola is a God-sent to the people of Osun.
“We are confident that Aregbesola is utilising our resources very well and the people of Osun are proud of him,” he said.
He then charged the governor to concentrate on the areas that have not been fully touched among his Six-point Integral Action Plan in the next year’s budget, with a view to ensuring that all his campaign promises are fully fulfilled.
Presenting the budget performance report, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, stated that the Aregbesola administration has been able to keep the state afloat in this hard time of sharp decline in the allocation to the state.
This, according to him, is due to a unique and innovative financial re-engineering strategy of government that has continued to attract commendations from far and near.
He was optimistic that with an improved funding arrangement in the next fiscal year and the intensification of the current revenue generating efforts of government, the financial challenges of the state would soon be a thing of the past.
