Osun SSG, Oyebamiji, commends Oyetola on continuity in OSBC management structure
… as former DG, Akinjiola, bows out
The Secretary to the State Government of Osun State, Prince Wole Oyebamiji, has commended the administration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for its commitment to the maintenance of the management structure of the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC).
This, he described, as pivot to maintaining good governance in the agency.
Oyebamiji, who joined several others to celebrate the outgoing Director-General of the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation, Mrs Jumoke Akinjiola, also advised young professionals to polish their skills and intellect for career development.
Oyebamiji, who described Mrs Akinjiola as a thoroughbred professional who efficiently managed the affairs of OSBC during her years as Director-General, said the communication industry was too demanding for any professional not to have passion and patience.
Oyebamiji, while also commissioning the Solar-enabled security lights erected by the outgoing Director-General, lauded the initiative, describing it as a creative alignment with Governor Oyetola’s security drive in the State.
“Mrs Akinjiola has distinguished herself as a progressive Director-General, who within barely 30 months of her leadership of the organisation, realised the sensitivity of security to the workings of the organisation, and erected these solar-enabled security lights at strategic locations of the organisation’s facility”, Oyebamiji said.
Also speaking at the valedictory session held at the OSBC facility in honour of Akinjiola, the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs Funke Egbemode, lauded the government of the State of Osun for its commitment to credible appointments.
Egbemode said: “Osun has brilliant women, and the government of the State is not afraid to push its women into positions of responsibility.
“The confidence reposed in the outgoing Director-General, Mrs Akinjiola, was not misplaced and the State has no regret whatsoever about her abilities and discharge of her duties.
“Her professionalism was very noticeable, she was on top of her game always, she had many balls to juggle but she ensured that none fell off her hands”, Egbemode said.
In his earlier remarks, the incoming Acting Director-General, Mr Rasheed Kayode Folaranmi, also commended Mrs Akinjiola, submitting that she initiated several developmental programmes and made indelible marks as Director-General.
He added that Akinjiola excelled in the areas of staff welfare and in the stability of the operating system in the organisation.
The send forth ceremony was attended by past Director-Generals of OSBC, Chairman of SUBEB, Hon Ajibola Famurewa, former Information Commissioner, Hon Sunday Akere and other dignitaries.
