GOVERNOR ADELEKE SALUTES ELDER STATES MAN, LT. GEN. ALANI AKINRINADE ON 85TH BIRTHDAY

The Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has felicitated a former Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. Gen. Ipoola Alani Akinrinade, on the auspicious occasion of his 85th birthday, celebrating his life of contributions to national growth and stability.

Governor Adeleke salutes Lt. Gen. Akinrinade’s endearing sense of patriotism and devotion to duty, acknowledging his profound role in the creation of Osun state and the sustained interest he has shown in its development.

The Governor who expresses his admiration for the courage and dexterity that defines Lt. Gen. Akinrinade’s military career, making it possible for him to reach the top at a young age, saying the celebrant is a symbol of virtues not just to Osun, but the whole of Nigeria, given his principles and the extent of services.

“On this day, I celebrate our father, Lt. Gen. Ipoola Alani Akinrinade, as he clocks the age of 85 years. Today, not only reflects the time that has passed, but also the incredible contributions he has made to the nation, and particularly, Osun state,” Governor Adeleke was quoted as saying in a congratulatory message.

“On behalf of the Government and good people of Osun State, I honour the life of services that defines Lt. Gen. Akinrinade, playing important roles in unifying the country and advancing its growth. I’m particularly thankful to Baba Akinrinade for the role he played in the creation of Osun state, which is why I often refer to him as the father of Osun.”

While extolling Lt. Gen. Akinrinade for inspiring generations to giving their best in any chosen endeavour, Governor Adeleke prays for continuous health and grace of God that will allow the Ile-Ife born retired military chief to make more contributions to national unity and progress, as well as the continued growth of Osun state.
