1.FAKE NEWS – Osun Infra Projects are substandard and of low quality:
FACT CHECK – Osun projects are handled by experienced, COREN certified engineers. The projects are conceived and executed with global best practices that are even validated by a technical mission of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.
- FAKE NEWS: Osun government awards major projects to companies without expertise in construction sector:
FACT CHECK: All companies engaged by the administration passed due diligence, due process and procurement processes. The companies also parade tested COREN certified professionals as staff. They are competent and entrenched in the construction sector.
- FAKE NEWS: Osun engages incompetent local companies instead of global construction companies like Julius Berger and other multinationals:
FACT CHECK: The Osun government is implementing local content law to develop the capacity of our local companies, to ensure that Osun money services Osun people, to develop local construction skills and to boost local economies. The local content policy places top emphasis on quality and best construction practices.
- FAKE NEWS: Newly constructed bridges are collapsing because of poor quality
FACT CHECK: No new bridge has collapsed. The two reported incidents are opposition propaganda and sabotage. A section of the road on the bridge was drilled and hammered by the opposition elements. The sabotaged section was immediately rehabilitated and security men posted for protection. The other incident was a road actually done by the Oyetola administration at Ile Ife which the opposition claimed to be under the current government at Modakeke. The GPS of the said bad road was posted which proved that it was at Ile Ife, not Modakeke as contained in the APC propaganda.
- FAKE NEWS: Adeleke government is sponsoring insecurity and responsible for killings and attacks ongoing across Osun state.
FACT CHECK : Governor Adeleke is a peace loving leader who instructed his supporters never to retaliate despite the constant attacks and killings. Accord has lost seven of its members, with 20 injured from gunshots and over 60members currently in illegal police detention. APC thugs are regularly accompanied by police men who invade and arrest Accord leaders all over the state. All facts in public domain confirm that Accord members are the victims while APC and the police are the aggressors.
- FAKE NEWS: Adeleke spent 92 billion naira on entertainment within the governor’s office in the last three years.
FACT CHECK: The Governor’s office has eight agencies with their separate budget sub-headings. Governor’s office is not about the governor alone and other agencies domiciled with operate their budget and implement their listed projects. The governor did not spend N92 billion on entertainment as alleged.
- FAKE NEWS: The Adeleke administration moved Ido Osun Airport to Ede for political vendetta.
FACT CHECK: It was former Governor Oyetola who handed over Ido Osun airport to the Nigerian Airforce for a so -called aviation city and training centre. All the facts are in the public domain. The airport still remains at Odo Osun but under the Airforce arrangement signed by Mr Oyetola.
- FAKE NEWS: There is an Edenisation agenda being pursued by Governor Adeleke.
FACT CHECK: The Edenisation agenda is fake news. The governor launched the Osun Infra Agenda in December 2022. The agenda covers all local governments with multi-sectoral projects. Again in December 2023, the governor launched the second phase of the infra agenda which targeted Ila Orangun, Iwo, Ilesa , Ede and Ile Ife. Today, all those mega projects are completed and are being commissioned. The administration adopts and enforces equity and fairness in the distribution of her Infra Projects.
- FAKE NEWS – Adeleke’s administration earns more money than the former Oyetola government. It mismanages the money. So the governor should deliver more than what exists today in Osun.
FACT CHECK: The issue of how much a government gets from federal allocation should be situated with the current inflationary rates and associated exchange rates for the national currency. The cost of construction in the pre-2022 era is not the same as today. Construction cost has skyrocketed by more than 500 percent. The present administration has delivered 350 kilometres of roads, three flyover bridges, six dualised roads, 150 renovated schools, over 200 renovated health centres, 31 tractors, near liquidation of inherited half salary and pension debt among others. There is value for more money flowing into Osun.
10.FAKE NEWS: Governor Adeleke is not in control of the state government. His brother and sister are the ones in charge.
FACT CHECK: Governor Adeleke holds the red pen and decides and approves as stipulated by the law and executive decisions. He is a listening governor who listens to advice and counsels of his top officials, cabinet members, advisers, his family members and fairness from far and near. Neither the Governor’s brother or sister belongs to the cabinet. They also did not hold any position in the administration. Mr Governor is firmly in control of his government.
- FAKE NEWS: Adeleke administration lied to the public by announcing acquisition of over 100 tractors while it delivered audio 31 tractors
FACT CHECK: The governor announced plans to purchase 100 plus tractors in three batches. The first batch of 31 was purchased and deployed to the field. The tractors have ploughed over 400 hectares of land since they were deployed. The financial constraints occasioned by the withholding of local government allocation forced the government to be using state resources to pay workers under the local government payroll. The purchase of further tractors was then put on hold pending improvement in the state finance. Meanwhile, Previous APC governments did not buy a single tractor for 12 years.
- FAKE NEWS: Governor Ademola Adeleke sacked workers employed by Oyetola administration FACT CHECK: The workers were employed after the loss of the 2022 election by Governor Oyetola to set up landmines for the incoming Adeleke administration. Their employment had not been concluded when the previous government left office. They were employed in contravention of standard procedures and rules.
- FAKE NEWS : UNILESA fee is deliberately set very high to punish the poor FACT CHECK: The fees for Medical and Law students are relatively higher in view of the high standard and facilities required for producing medical and law graduates. When compared to other institutions, fees for UNILESA and UNIOSUN are even cheaper.
- FAKE NEWS: The governor dances a lot as a sign of unseriousness.
FACT CHECK: The governor is a tough hearted individual who is deeply devoted to the service of the state. The dancing aspect does not affect his governance of the state. He delivers on all fronts. Secondly, the governor regards his dancing as a praise singing to his creator. Thirdly, the governor counts his dancing as a symbol of gratitude to God for elevating him.
