Objectives Of the Ministry

The Objectives of the Agency are

  • coordinate Government activities and oversees various Agencies of Government;
  • act as the clearing house for policy proposals from the various Agencies of Government;
  • deal with matters coming to the attention of Government from Public Servantsand for which no other agency of Government has such responsibility;
  • ensure the upkeep of disciplined, enlightened and contented civil service in the context of a result oriented public administration and oversees the secondment of officers to other government agencies such as Federal, State and Local;
  • examine the review of the operations of the specialized agencies of Government as the case maybe;
  • serve as the Secretariat of the Forum of Accounting Officers;
  • monitor the activities of Statutory Corporations particularly with regard to appointment, promotion and discipline of Senior Staff;
  • the career of Senior Management Officers in the Public Service;
  • coordinate the personnel needs of the various agencies of government;
  • approve leave of absence and permission to travel abroad for Public Servants.
