Oluomo Kolapo Maruf Alimi, was born on 4 of Janaury, 1970 to the family of Alhaji Adebisi Alimi and Alhaja Mulikat Alimi of Agbodi’s compound, Erin-Osun. Between 1977 and 1983, Alimi attended Christ Apostolic Church Primary School II, Eleta, Ibadan, Oyo State and later proceeded to Urban Day Grammar School, Ibadan, Oyo State between 1983 and 1988.

He was also at the prestigious Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo in Ondo State between 1989 and 1992, for his NCE in Mathematics/ Physics.

He expediently and enjoyably invested his time, skills and interest into teaching of Mathematics and Physics in Ilobu Grammar School, Ilobu, Osun State.

As a Mathematics and Physics teacher then, he also developed a strong interest in legal profession and later studied Law at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife between 1997 and 2003.

He then proceeded to Nigeria Law School, Lagos Campus, between 2004 and 2005 and was called to the Nigeria Bar in 2005.

He started his law practice in the Law firm of FOWE, Awosode & Associates based in Ibadan as a Counsel between January 2006 and November 2007. He later joined the legal firm of

G.O Owojori & Co based in Osogbo, Osun State just as he worked with the giant Law Firm of Adewale Afolabi & Co in Osogbo, Osun State from 2007 to 2010 when he was fortunate to be appointed as the Honourbale Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Osun State by the then Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Abdul Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola. Oluomo Kolapo Alimi served as the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs of Osun State for two consecutive terms. This is an unprecedented record that has not been attained by anybody in Osun State.

Oluomo Kolapo Alimi took part in many epic legal battles such as Aregbesola V. Oyinlola, Wole Oke V. Nathaniel Agunbiade, Adeyeye V. Simeon Oduoye, Omoworare V. Omisore, e.t.c

He was practicing law when he got appointed as the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs by Ogbeni Abdulrauf Adesoji Aregbesola and served under the administration between 12th August, 2011 and 26th November, 2014. He was also reappointed as the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs during second term of Ogbeni Abdulrauf Adesoji Aregbesola where he served meritoriously till the 26th November, 2018. It was his leadership as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs under Ogbeni Abdulrauf Adesoji Aregbesola that brought in extensive dialogue approach known as Alternative Dispute Resolution, for settlement of Chieftaincy disputes among People of Osun State. Another very interesting approach of Oluomo Kolapo Alimi’s leadership vis-à-vis his duties and responsibilities as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs was strict adherence to the rule of law in discharging his duties. He successfully ensured that all steps and actions were carried out in accordance with the letters of the Law and tradition.

In 2020, the easy going and hardworking Alimi was appointed Senior Legislative Aide to Rt.Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.(the former Speaker, House of Reps and now Chief Of Staff to the President).

In that same year, Honourable Kolapo Maruf Alimi was honoured with the Chieftaincy title of Oluomo of Erin-Osun by His Royal Highness, Oba Yusuff Kolawole Adekunle Omoloye Oyagbodun lI, the Elerin of Erin-Osun.

Oluomo Kolapo Maruf Alimi was also honored with a religious title of Balogun Musulumi of Erin-Osun by the Muslim Community of Erin-Osun.

In 2022, after the long battle between him and the Ex Governor Gboyega Oyetola because of political segregation being played by the Oyetola administration then, he left APC and defected along with thousands of supporters to PDP where he was immediately appointed as the Deputy Director General ( DDG) Adeleke Campaign Council during which he worked tirelessly for the victory of Gov. Ademola Adeleke.

He participated in the Legal battles between Oyetola and Adeleke in which Governor Ademola Adeleke came out victorious.

Apart from being a teacher and politician, Oluomo Alimi is an active Legal Practitioner of repute who specializes in Election petitions. He is the Principal Partner, Kolapo Alimi & Co., a reputable Law Firm at MONSHAALLAH HOUSE, 93, Station Road, Osogbo, Osun State.

On 19th July, 2023, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi was appointed the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, by His Excellency, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke.

In 2023, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi was voted as the sun State Best Commissioner in an online voting handled by the Online Media Practitioners. A very brilliant person, Alimi has won numerous Local and International awards.

He is joyfully married to Alhaja Naimot Ajike Alimi and Mrs. Oluwakemi Monsurat Alimi and the unions are blessed with children.
