Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has honored the memory of his late brother, Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke (SERUBAWON), on the eighth anniversary of his passing. The Governor described him as a pioneer, a people’s champion, and a beacon of good governance whose legacy continues to inspire leadership across the state.

In a statement issued today, April 23, 2025, Governor Adeleke expressed profound emotion and pride as he reflected on the life and lasting impact of the first Executive Governor of Osun State. He emphasized that although his brother may have passed, his influence endures in the hearts of the people and in the continued progress of the state.

“Eight years have passed since your departure, but not a day goes by without your memory living vividly in our hearts. While your absence is deeply felt, your presence continues to guide, inspire, and strengthen us in ways words can hardly express,” Governor Adeleke stated.

“You were more than just a brother; you were a pillar, a mentor, and a rare gem whose heart beat for the people. You lived with purpose, led with compassion, and carried your responsibilities with grace and integrity. Osun remembers you not only as its first Executive Governor but as a trailblazer who planted the seeds of good governance, which continue to bear fruits today.”

Governor Adeleke reflected on the enduring legacy of his brother’s leadership: “In every act of justice, every step toward progress, and every life uplifted by sincere leadership, I feel your legacy echoing. You left behind not just memories, but a mission—a mission I have embraced and continue to uphold. Your dreams for our people have become my compass, and your values, my daily commitment.”

While the pain of his passing remains, Governor Adeleke expressed a sense of pride in the man his brother was and the impact he left behind.

“Today, I do not mourn alone. A grateful people stand with me, honoring a son of the soil, a servant of the people, and a brother whose life was a blessing to all who knew him. Your name continues to command love, respect, and admiration.”

“Rest on, my brother. Your journey on this earth may have ended, but your impact will never fade. In our hearts and in our state, you live forever” the statement concluded.
