Adeleke Commends Living Spring College, Pledges Support for Skills and Innovation.

Governor Ademola Adeleke has received the Rector of Living Spring College of Technology and Innovation, Dr. Kehinde Abiola, alongside members of the institution’s management team at the Government House, Oke-fia , Osogbo, describing the visit as timely and symbolic of goodwill and shared commitment to development.

The governor said he listened attentively to the presentation made by the college and commended the institution for demonstrating a strong spirit of partnership and responsibility, noting that the engagement reflects a sincere dedication to education, innovation and the overall development of Osun State.

Governor Adeleke particularly appreciated the college’s offer to support vocational training for 1,000 beneficiaries and provide capacity-building programmes for 250 civil servants and other participants. According to him, the initiative aligns with his administration’s focus on skills acquisition, youth empowerment and the continuous improvement of public service efficiency.

He praised Living Spring College for its record of excellence, especially in the area of artificial intelligence, describing the institution’s achievements as impressive. The governor also acknowledged the college’s recognition for Best Institutional AI Policy in Higher Education, which he said underscores its leadership in the field of emerging technologies.

Governor Adeleke further received and appreciated the presentation of AI award certificates and the letter of approval for the proposed Lumina Open University to be located in Osun State, describing the proposed institution as a positive addition to the state’s educational landscape, adding that relevant agencies would study the proposal and its wider implications.

The governor also commended the college for the mature and responsible handling of issues surrounding the damaged school farm, noting that constructive engagement and peaceful resolution of disputes remain core values of his administration.

However, the State helmsman assured the visiting team that all offers and proposals presented have been well noted and would be examined by appropriate ministries and agencies to determine areas of collaboration in line with government policies and procedures, while expressing optimism for a productive partnership that will advance education, innovation and economic empowerment in Osun State.

Speaking earlier, the Rector of the college, Dr. Kehinde Abiola, expressed appreciation to Governor Ademola Adeleke for supporting the institution’s vision of equipping students with skills for self-reliance. He disclosed that the college has so far empowered over one thousand indigenes through various vocational training programmes, adding that arrangements are in place to train about 250 civil servants in Artificial Intelligence and other emerging fields.

Dr. Abiola also commended the state government for its timely intervention in resolving a dispute between the college and cattle breeders in the area, noting that the action prevented the situation from escalating into a crisis and ensured continued peace and harmony within the community.

In their separate remarks during the visit, the Chairman of Miyetti Allah, Osun State chapter, Alhaji Mohammed Abdullahi, and the Chairman of Seriki Fulani, Osun State chapter, Alhaji Ibrahim Babatunde, pledged the full support of the Fulani community for Governor Adeleke’s second-term bid, describing the administration as inclusive and responsive to the needs of all groups in the state.
