The Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has recognised teachers as an important pillar of our collective progress as a nation, saying that their works in the classrooms does not only continue to shape minds and character of future generations, but helping to build a society founded on knowledge and wisdom.
Governor Adeleke, who identifies teaching as not just a profession but a calling rooted in devotion and discipline, noted with deep respect the patience, sacrifice and unwavering commitment to knowledge and values that teachers demonstrate in their line of work.
The Governor expresses heartfelt gratitude to teachers, particularly in Osun state, for the incredible works they are putting into preparing our children and young people to become responsible and productive citizens, honouring them as as the ladder to a brighter future and that his administration will continue to prioritise their welfare, training and every resources in the aid of their jobs.
“Teachers are builders. They spend every day shaping minds, directing paths, and imparting knowledge and values in our children, and young people. We are all we are thanks to the work of teachers,” Governor Adeleke noted in a message to commemorate World’s Teachers Day.
“While the world may choose today to celebrate teachers, for us in Osun state, we count every day that teachers leave their homes to prepare our children and young people to become responsible and productive citizens in the future as a moment to celebrate them.
“In the last three years, our administration has prioritised the welfare of teachers and make their place of works a little more conducive through a structured rehabilitation of public schools infrastructure. Even when regressive elements took hold of funds that should pay primary school teachers, we stepped in and ensure that they would not suffer for the reckless abuse of power by certain political interests. That speaks to our appreciation and respect for the works of teachers.”
Governor Adeleke urged the society to show they understand their work and reward them appropriately, reassuring teacher’s and by extension, Osun workers of his administration commitment to their welfare and improved conditions as we go on the journey of making the state better together.
