STATES FISCAL TRANSPARENCY LEAGUE TABLE: OSUN EMERGES JOINT 5TH In Q1 2025.

Osun State has emerged joint 5th in the ranking of states in Fiscal Transparency between January and March 2025 alongside Adamawa, Cross River, Edo and Taraba states.

The ranking, done by BudgIT, a non governmental transparency and accountability advocacy group, focused on key issues like Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF –12 points), Proposed Budget (13 points), Approved Budget (21 points), Citizens Budget (15 points), Quarterly Budget Implementation Reports (BIR–16 points), eProcurement Portal (11 points) and State website with fiscal data repository (12 points), making a total of 100 points.

Osun state secured the joint 5th position in the Q1 2025 State Fiscal Transparency League Table with 92 points, driven by its strong performance in key fiscal areas. The state achieved full scores in the MTEF, proposed and approved budgets, and maintained a comprehensive fiscal data repository on its official website. It also published all quarterly budget implementation reports.

The state lost points on citizens budget due to the absence of local language adaptation, limiting accessibility while the state is encouraged to upgrade its e–procurement portal.
