Top muslim clerics coordinated by Tawuun Islamic foundation on Tuesday hosted a marathon Arafat Day prayers for peace of Osun state and re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke just as the Timi of Ede, Oba Dr. Munirudeen Adesola Lawal,
tasked Osun people to massively vote for the governor on August 15.

Reading several verses from the Holy Quran, the Islamic leaders referenced several accomplishments of the governor in their towns and villages and invoked names of Allah for the governor’s victory on August 15th.
Addressing the clerics, founder of Ta’awun Foundation, Sheikh Daood Imran Molaasan, has commended Governor Ademola Adeleke for what he described as a rare display of political maturity, patriotism, and statesmanship in endorsing the second term bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu despite what he termed “numerous acts of victimization” directed at Osun State
Sheikh Molaasan described Governor Adeleke as a true Ọmọluabi and a worthy ambassador of the Yoruba race, whose commitment to peace, unity, and responsible leadership remains exemplary.
He said Governor Adeleke’s endorsement of President Tinubu’s second term reflects uncommon political civility and a sincere commitment to national stability above personal or partisan considerations.

“This is not just politics; it is a profound demonstration of Yoruba values of honour, dignity, and commitment to the greater good. Governor Adeleke has shown himself to be a great ambassador of the Yoruba people and a leader who prioritizes peace and development over conflict and division.
“We therefore call on the Federal Government to reciprocate this noble gesture by ensuring justice and fairness for Osun State. The withheld local government allocations allegedly diverted should be released without delay so that the state can continue to deliver democratic dividends to its people.
“Our prayers today are not only for the continued success of Governor Adeleke’s administration but also for enduring peace, prosperity, and divine guidance for Osun State and Nigeria as a whole,” Sheikh Molaasan stated.
The Ede monarch who also addressed his subjects at the Eid praying ground said the ancient town stands fully with Governor Adeleke Beyond 2030, urging Osun people to support continuity for delivery of more good governance.
According to the monarch, Osun is enjoying democratic dividends under the superlative performance of the governor, appealing to Osun residents to support continuity of good infrastructure, workers welfare and listening leadership.
“If they remove posters, they cannot destroy what God has done. And what God has done is that Mr Governor will be in the saddle till 2030.
