
Governor Adeleke Celebrates Lt. General Alani Akinrinade at 87.

Governor Ademola Adeleke has felicitated a distinguished son of Osun State and elder statesman, Lieutenant General Alani Akinrinade, CFR, on the occasion of his 87th birthday, describing him as a proud symbol of courage, service and patriotism.
Governor Adeleke, in a birthday message, celebrated the remarkable life and career of the military officer and statesman, whose journey from Yakoyo, Ife North, to the highest levels of military command and national service remains a source of inspiration.
The Governor noted that Lieutenant General Akinrinade made history as the first son of Ife North and the first Yoruba man to serve as Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff, while also contributing to national development in various ministerial capacities.
He said the celebrant’s distinguished service to Nigeria, both in uniform and in public office, represents a significant chapter in the nation’s history and a legacy of commitment to public service.
“Lieutenant General Alani Akinrinade is a distinguished son of Osun State whose life of service has brought honour to Ife North, our state and Nigeria. At 87, we celebrate not only his remarkable achievements but also the enduring values of courage, discipline, patriotism and service which his life represents,” the Governor was quoted as saying.
Governor Adeleke congratulated the elder statesman on the milestone and prayed that Almighty God would continue to grant him good health, peace, wisdom and many more fulfilling years.
“On behalf of the Government and good people of Osun State, I wish Lieutenant General Alani Akinrinade a happy 87th birthday and many more years of good health and fulfilment. May his legacy of service continue to inspire generations to come,” the Governor added.
