To achieve abundant flow of pipe borne water across the state, the current administration has been executing projects to reverse the years of neglect of the Ede Water Works.

This water works supplies 70% of the water needs of the state and has been in a state of disrepair for a while. The water works was operating at the 17% production capacity at the inception of the current administration.

The administration of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, therefore, commenced a rehabilitation programme. The first phase of the programme, achieved an increase in efficiency of 26% of production capacity by providing :

  • 2 intake pumps.
  • 1 generating set.
  • 2 transformers.
  • 7 dozing pumps.

The second phase of the programme is currently being implemented, to raise production to 70%. When completed. This will facilitate the flow of clean water to the majority of the state.

In addition, the state is working on an innovative potable water distribution scheme that will get water to the nook and cranny of the State. This project is being planned to have a social enterprise component.
