Ifon-Ilobu-Erin Osun Communal Crisis: Adeleke Relaxes Curfew, Now 12 midnight—4am daily

The Osun state Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has given an immediate approval for the relaxation of curfew imposed on the three warring communities of Ifon, Ilobu and Erin Osun, base on the positive security reports from the security Chiefs in the state on the security situations in the affected Communities.

To this end, the curfew, which though will still be in force until total peace is attained, has been relaxed by the Governor to now be from 12 midnight till 4:00am of the following day with effect from today Saturday, 19th July, 2025.

Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi made the position of the Governor known today in a Press Statement made available to newsmen, in Osogbo, the State capital.

According to Alimi, with the new directive by the Governor, the hitherto imposed 9pm to 6am curfew already in place has been accordingly relaxed.

Governor Adeleke, then seized the opportunity to appreciate the Olufon, Olobu, Elerin and other stakeholders in the three communities for their cooperation in bringing lasting peace to the three Communities, the Governor while urging all stakeholders to sustain peace, however, issued a stern warning to all the stakeholders that the Government will not hesitate to deal with anyone that forment trouble in the area.

The statement by Alimi reads: “Following the return of peace in the warring communities of Ifon-Ilobu- Erin Osun, it gladdens my heart, as the Chief Security Officer of Osun State to direct that the hitherto 9pm-6am curfew will now be between 12 midnight to 4am of the following day, with effect from today Saturday 19th July, 2025.

“Let me seize this opportunity to appreciate the Olufon, Olobu, Elerin and other Stakeholders for their efforts in bringing lasting peace to the three Communities, I urge that you should please keep it up.

“Finally, I am using this medium to urge the 100 – man Boundaries Resolution Committee for Ifon/Ilobu/Erin to expidite action on the boundaries resolution among the three Communities”
