Governor Ademola Adeleke today expressed dissatisfaction with the slow pace of work on the Lagere flyover and dualisation projects at Ile Ife, tasking the contractor to hasten up the construction.

The governor who checked through the dualisation and the flyover questioned the attitudes of the contractor to the Ile Ife project, warning that the state government would not accept any further delay on the completion date.

The governor accompanied by the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi and the Commissioner for Special Duties, Dr Bashiru Salami, said the April ending deadline should be complied with without any further delay.

“I am dissatisfied with the slow pace of work on this project. This is totally unacceptable. We will not tolerate any further delay. I have promised our father, the Oonirisa and people of Ile Ife of early completion. There should be no room for any further delay”, the governor warned.

Before inspecting the flyover project, the governor had flagged off the Rehabilitation of Gbalefefefe-Omi-Igbin-Koola-Asabi Famia Road in Modakeke.

The governor received by Oba (Dr) Joseph Olubiyi Toriola, the Ogunsua of Modakeke; the Commissioner for Transport, Hon Sesan Oyedele; and Hon Samuel Oyedotun, said his administration is embarking on the road rehabilitation in response to the yearnings and aspirations of Modakeke people.

According to the governor, his administration had already completed the rehabilitation of Celestial – Ajape road and Ap – Oronna road within Modakeke.

The details of roads flagged off today include Gbalefefe – Omi Igbin – Koola-Asabi Famia Road Modakeke (Phase 1 and 2) – 3km; spot patching and rehabilitation of Itasin – Famia junction – Oke Bode, 2.53km; and complete overlay from Mayfair roundabout – Iraye – Ondo road Junction.

“My good people of Modakeke, I am here again to deliver the dividends of democracy. We are a government that brings verifiable developments across all facets of life”, the governor told the cheering crowd.

Welcoming the governor, the Ogunsua of Modakeke conveys the deep appreciation of Modakeke people for his full attention to the developmental needs of the town, assuring that his people will show appreciation at the right moment.

“We commend Mr Governor for this new initiative. On behalf of sons and daughters of Modakeke, we assure you of our continuous support now and in the future. Mr Governor, you are a major ally and supporter of Modakeke people in our developmental journey”, the royal father noted.
