PVC Collection: Governor Adeleke Declares Tuesday Work-free Day.

OSOGBO – 27/07/2026 – osunstate.gov.ng

Governor Ademola Adeleke has approved that all categories of public servants in Osun state should be off their duties on Tuesday, 28th July, 2026 to go for the collection of their permanent voter cards.

The affected categories of workers also include local government staff, tertiary institutions among others.

The Head of Service, Elder Ayanleye Aina who conveyed the directive in a circular across the public service said the work-free day approval was to enable public servants perform their civic obligation during the forthcoming gubernatorial and future elections in the State.

According to the circular, those on essential duties like medical workers, security staff etc are however advised to make necessary arrangements among themselves in this regard so as not to have negative consequences on the lives of the citizenry.

Governor Adeleke urges public servants and other informal workers to collect their voters cards as urgently as possible, reminding the public of how critical next month’s election is to the state and her future.

“I encourage all registered voters to reach all the collection points without delay. Your vote is your power. Your voters card is your licence to the ballot paper and by extension to the ballot box”, the governor admonished the members of the public.

Mallam Olawale Rasheed,
Spokesperson to the State Governor.
