IGNORE FAKE VIDEO ON HOARDED FOODSTUFF. IT IS THE HANDIWORK OF FAKE NEWS MERCHANTS

NEWS RELEASE
OSOGBO 14/2/2024

Our attention has been drawn to a video circulating alleging spoilt, hoarded grains are being shared by the Osun State Government. We clarified to the public that the administration did not hoard any foodstuff as all grains and other palliative items were distributed since last year.

It was public knowledge that it was the last administration that hoarded Covid relief items including foodstuffs and grains. During the EndSars protest, members of the public broke into the warehouses to cart away the relief materials. This administration is not an anti-people government.

The government under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke is implementing multi-focussed policies designed to cushion the effect of the hard times on the people.

By tomorrow, the State Government is set to distribute cash grants and support for identified poor segments of the society in continuation of its multiple responses to the current national economic challenges.

We urge the public to ignore the video as the handiwork of purveyors of fake news.

Signed
Oluomo Kolapo Alimi,
Hon Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment
