Governor Ademola Adeleke today reflected on the journey towards the August 15 governorship election and declared that “today and on all accounts, Osun has a divine goalkeeper at the goal post.

“Some time ago, someone tried to play God and said he saw a goal post without a goalkeeper. But today, God has planted a divine goal keeper. And that person is me, Governor Ademola Adeleke.

“I thank Ajibola Bashiru for recognising that there is a goalkeeper. This goalkeeper is prepared by God and people to retain the governorship. The camp of those who talked of empty goalpost is scattered by God and people.

“Because we have God, we are fearless. Because we are truly and genuinely serving the people, we are sure of re-election. Today, all the impediments planted by anti-people elements, by Osun APC are cleared”, the governor told top stakeholders of the party at the Government House today.

Attended by top leaders of Government and Accord, the governor dared the opposition to stop running away from free and fair campaigns and elections, asking “why is the Osun APC afraid of its sordid past? Why is the Osun APC scared of Osun people?

“For this election, I am ready to go round towns and villages to show the people what I have done in the last four years. I will brief them on my updated Five Point Agenda. I challenge Osun APC to do the same.

The meeting reviewed preparations for the August 15 campaigns, united all aspirants’ factions, listed out campaign plans, fine-tuned campaign strategies and conducted prayers for successful electoral activities.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi; House Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun; Secretary to the State Government, Hon Teslim Igbalaye; Chief of Staff, Hon Kazeem Akinleye;General Chairman for Accord/PDP, Hon Sunday Bisi; Chairman of Imole Campaign Council, Senator Lere Oyewumi; members of the House of Representatives; members of the State House of Assembly; candidates of the party for assembly, House of Representatives and Senate; local government chairmen, members of the local and state working committees of the Accord.
