Aregbesola Decries Yobe Killings

Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola has decried the recent killing of students in Yobe State by the  Boko Haram, describing it as brutal and barbaric.
Aregbesola while speaking through his Director of Bureau of Communications and Strategy, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon, said the killing of the innocent students was unwarranted as such act could only be perpetrated by people who have lost sanity and lack human feelings.
The governor said he was alarmed by the inhumane and brazen manner in which the Boko Haram now unleash violence on all people in the society. He said the activities of Boko Haram should worry all in the country because attacks on innocent and defenceless school students is now becoming a regular occurrence, a trend that must as a matter of urgency be arrested forthwith.
Aregbesola called on security agencies to be proactive in safeguarding lives of people and their property, saying , “What could drive people to do such mad thing is unimaginable. What for, and in the name of what could anyone murder innocent school children in such cold blood? Nowhere in the country seems safe for people again. All security agencies particularly those involved with intelligence gathering must gird their loins, improve on their acts and come to the rescue of Nigerians.
This latest act of reckless massacre of innocent citizens is unacceptable, mind-boggling, frightening and wicked. It calls for concerted efforts from all patriots to find a lasting solution to this menace. After all, the security and welfare of citizens remain the supreme responsibilities of any organized society”, he said.
