Governor Adeleke Debunks Alleged Plot to Arm Thugs.

●Says Osun APC already Armed and Mobilised Violent Squad.

OSOGBO – 03/06/2026 – osunstate.gov.ng

Governor Ademola Adeleke has denied allegations that he has concluded arrangements to procure weapons for thugs, accusing the Osun APC of already raising and deploying armed thugs terrorising and killing Accord members.

Debunking the allegations as a ploy to divert attention from Osun APC violent conduct from destruction of Accord billboards to physical assaults on many Accord members, the governor reiterated that his party and government have overwhelming support of the masses to win the August 15 polls.

In a statement issued by the Governors Spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed the governor denied any involvement of any government or party official in any illegal operations, declaring that Osun state government operates within the bounds of the law and due process.

The statement specifically absolved the Chief of Staff to the governor, the Amotekun commander or any other government functionaries of any plot to buy arms for thugs, calling the allegation irresponsible, unfounded and libelous.

Challenging Mr Remi Omowaiye to explain his role in the disappearance of the fully paid state drones and communication contract for state armoured personnel carriers, the statement posited that Osun APC is aware that its arming and deployment of Asiri Eniba and other thugs have been duly exposed to the public, hence the diversionary accusations.

“We know why the Osun APC came up with its libelous and reprehensible accusations. The opposition is surprised at the state government’s proactive actions on recent security scares. The opposition APC is also concerned about a series of endorsements for Governor Adeleke at a time the state APC is being emptied by daily resignations.

“We call on the Presidency and national security apparatus to ignore the false alarms by the Osun APC. Governor Adeleke is a man of peace who is set to be re-elected by the grace of God and Osun people”, the statement concluded.

Signed:
Mallam Olawale Rasheed,
Spokesperson to the State Governor.
