Governor Ademola Adeleke has received a major political boost as the ancient town of Iree, hometown of prominent APC chieftain Adebayo Banik, formally endorsed his re-election, citing the administration’s visible infrastructure projects and inclusive governance across Osun State.

The endorsement came during a courtesy visit by a high-powered delegation from Iree, led by His Royal Majesty, Oba Muritala Omotayo Oyelakin, Oyekun III, the Aree of Iree.

Speaking on behalf of the community, the Royal Father commended Governor Adeleke for the rehabilitation of the Iree Township Roads, including the Palace Road, as well as the Iree-Ada Road Rehabilitation, describing the projects as evidence that the governor is committed to developing every part of Osun State.

“We have seen your good works in Iree. The rehabilitation of our Township Roads, especially the Palace Road, and the Iree-Ada Road have brought relief to our people. We appreciate your commitment to our town.

“We have also observed that your administration does not discriminate in the distribution of development. Communities across Osun are benefiting from your leadership, and Iree is proud to be one of them.

“Politics should be about performance, and we have seen performance. Our people can see the projects and they know the difference. That is why we are here to appreciate you and to declare our support for your second term,” the monarch declared.

The Aree of Iree prayed for the governor’s continued success in office, expressing confidence that another term would consolidate the developmental strides already recorded across the state.

Responding, Governor Adeleke thanked the royal father and the people of Iree for the endorsement, assuring them that his administration would continue to pursue equitable development and deliver the dividends of democracy to every community.

“Our administration is committed to fairness, justice and inclusive governance. Every town matters to us, and we will continue to ensure that Iree is not left behind in our development agenda.

“I appreciate this endorsement and the confidence reposed in our administration. It will further strengthen our resolve to serve the people with sincerity and dedication,” the governor stated.

The courtesy visit was attended by His Royal Majesty, Oba Muritala Omotayo Oyelakin, Oyekun III, the Aree of Iree; members of the Iree Traditional Council; Alhaji Waheed Lawal, Deputy President of the Iree Progressives Association (Global Executive); the Chief Imam of Iree, Sheikh Sulaiman Ayaniyi Adeyemo; the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Iree Chapter; cabinet members, special advisers and other government officials.
