World Bank To Support Nigerian Youths With $300m

WORLDBANK (4)Using the template of the Osun Youth Empowerment Scheme (OYES), the World Bank has earmarked $300 million to support youth empowerment in Nigeria
The World Bank task team leader for the bank’s social support operation tagged YESSO, a federal government/World Bank-supported intervention on poverty reduction targeted at the extremely poor in Nigeria to access increased opportunity for youth employment and social service delivery, Prof Foluso Okunmadewa, disclosed this at the training the trainers programme on community-based targeting and unified registry of beneficiaries of the scheme for participants from Osun, Ekiti and Oyo states.
Beside the aforementioned three states that will enjoy the largess under the World Bank’s YESSO, other pilot states include Bauchi, Cross River, Kwara and Niger states.
