Rainstrom Victims Appeal to State Government For Assitance

The member representing Odo-Otin State Constituency in the State of Osun Home of Assembly Hon. Olaolu Oyeniran, has called on the Government to come to the aid of the people of the community whose houses were destroyed as a result of the rainstorm that occurred in the area last Tuesday.
Some of the areas affected include Okuku, Ekusa, Igbaye, Inisa and Agbeye. The people, according to him need urgent attention in terms of relief materials and finance to assuage their plight.
He disclosed this during an on-the-spot assessment to the area by officials of Osun State Emergency Management Agency (OSEMA) together with the Executive Secretary in the area.
Hon. Olaolu further stressed that most people affected cannot afford to repair their houses, because the damages are beyond their capabilities.
In his own response the Operation Manager OSEMA, Engr. Tajudeen Adabanija assured the people of the community that, their request will be forwarded to the government within a week and that they expect positive response as soon as possible.
Engr. Adabanija disclosed that the lives and properties of the people are so precious to the Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola.
Mrs. Omidiji Oluyemisi, one of the victims from Okuku affected by the rain-storm confirmed the incidence and told the team that, she lost the roofs of both her houses and a shop, and therefore appealed to the Government to come to her aid
