*Stop the blame game, your Principal,Oyetola, was a complete failure

…Osun Government Tells Omipidan*

Our attention has again been drawn to yet another dose of disgracefully distasteful press release authored by Mr. Ismail Omipidan, the Chief Press Secretary to the immediate past Governor of Osun State and the current poorly rated Minister of Marines and Blue Economy, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola,
dated,Thursday, the 18th of July,2024 . It was entitled, “Violation of Due Process, procurement law: Omipidan blasts Osun Government”.

To put it succinctly ,it is sickening and disheartening to the souls of the right thinking members of the public, that, Omipidan, in his usual way, could again be playing with the intelligence of the people of Osun state by taking them for granted as being gullible.

One would have thought that , with the defeat suffered by his so called principal in person of Mr Adegboyega Oyetola in the 2022 Osun Governorship election, which was followed by the collosal defeat of APC in the 2023 general election under the leadership of Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, Mr Omipidan should have by now learnt his lessons by burying his head in shame . Recent developments, however,
have shown that, truly, a leopard can not change its spots.

Ordinarily, Osun State Government wouldn’t have dignified Omipidan with a response, the need to re-emphasize that, he is a pathological liar of the highest order informed the need to make this rejoinder so as to,once again, set the records straight.

Findings of Osun State Government through a press release also made by the Public Procurement Agency shortly after Omipidans diatribe and barrage of lies, signed by the General Manager of the Agency,
Engr. Babatunde Adesina Oyetola, has further vindicated the present administration of Senator Ademola Adeleke as standing on the path of truth as opposed to Omipidans belly aching stance and shenanigans of always wanting to pull Adeleke led administration down, which by the special grace of God,will not be allowed to see the light of the day.

The Press Release states as follows;
“Our attention has been drawn to a news reports and counter -reports on a Sahara Reporters’ story on a previous contract awards and uploads on Osun state websites under former Governor Gboyega Oyetola

“We seek to correct certain misconceptions we noticed in the counter-reactions to the Sahara Reporters story. Our goal is to set the records straight

“The old Osun state OCDS Portal is www.ocdsosun.org.ng. The new Osun state e-Procurement System is egp.osunstate.gov.ng. It was launched in December 2021 under the government of former Governor Oyetola.

“So we must first take note that, the migration of the data from the old to the new website was done under the administration of former Governor Gboyega Oyetola.
The then Commissioner of Finance ,Mr Bola Oyebamiji and the Former General Manager of the Agency, Mr Adegboyega Basheer Bello supervised the entire e-procurement process.

“So it was not true that it was the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke which created the new website and incorrectly exported existing data on the old website.

“Having clarified that, we want to add further that the e-Procurement System has OCDS records of manual awards (i.e; awards before the use of e-Procurement) and electronic awards conducted through the e-Procurement system (after 2021).

“The two portals were created during the administration of former Governor Oyetola. Bon Maximus company was engaged as consultant to manage the new e.procurement system (egp.osunstate.gov.ng) by the same Oyetola administration.

“The error identified was a data entry error that occurred three (3) times during migration of manual awards to the e-Procurement system. This was as earlier noted done under the previous administration.

“This can be authenticated further as the “Release Date” which means “Upload Date” of the affected project is 2021-06-01. The award is for a single project, award amount is N233,456,205 and it is a Direct Labour project executed by the Ministry of Works.

“However, the error was corrected by the consultant when he saw Sahara’s report as such error can only occur on a project that was awarded manually. You can not have errors in electronic awards; i.e; contracts conducted through the e-Procurement system.

“This is one of the reasons why the current Osun State government retained the inherited e-Procurement system for better transparency and efficiency in procurement processes.

“We therefore want to note that the original Sahara Reporters’ story indeed picked the data from the official website which indeed contained the error.

“The fact as stated above is that it was one project that was uploaded three times which gave the impression of wrongdoing.”Ended the press release among others.

The press release by the General Manager of the Public procurement office, Eng. Oyetola has therefore shown that, the allegations of Mr Omipidan are not only baseless but totally out of tune with the existing realities on ground.

In Omipidan’s usual way of attacking and using lies to promote his pay master, when asked to produce a video/audio clip where Kolapo Alimi, the Osun State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment was falsely quoted to have said that Adeleke administration awarded Akoda road dualisation project before perfecting the Due Process, he failed to produce any evidence to that effect.

Instead of apologizing, Mr Omipidan, the biggest liar of all times, went gaga by blabbing about as usual with his yet another baseless press statement, all in an attempt, to massage the ego of his so called Principal,Adegboyega Oyetola.

In the said Press Release of his, Omipidan, was all out, through concocted lies in saying that we erred by saying that Oyetola was not well rated in the recently carried out ratings of all the Ministers in President Bola Ahmed Tinubus cabinet.

Be that as it, we are again challenging Mr Omipidan to go and Google search where Oyetola was carpeted as one of the poorly rated serving Ministers in Nigeria by independent analysts and observers, precisely on the popular program tagged ‘Politics Today’on Channel Televisions.

We are quick to note and add that, Mr Omipidan should know that the style of using lies to cover the truth is no longer acceptable, because the Kangaroo rating which was hurriedly packaged like a love letter by one of the Special Advisers to the President, which eventually rated Oyetola as the best, can not hold water in the estimation of the right thinking members of the public.

Finally, we want to seize this opportunity to thank the good people of Osun State and Nigeria as a whole for appreciating the Imole- Osun led administration of Senator Ademola Adeleke.

E-Signed:
Oluomo Kolapo Alimi
Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment
