Governor Ademola Adeleke has raised alarm over plots by some disgruntled elements to destabilise the motor parks across the state, directing the Commissioner of Police to nip the evil plans in the bud.
In a statement issued on Friday in Osogbo, the Governor disclosed that certain individuals linked to opposition elements have concluded plans to invade motor parks across the local governments, calling the sinister moves a ploy to foist chaos on the state.
Describing the plan as a threat to public order, the governor praises the peace and tranquillity that have prevailed at the motor parks from 2023 till date and vowed never to allow instability and conflicts to resurface at the transport joints.
“Credible reports indicted some opposition elements in this untoward plan against the peace of Osun state. We already have all the details and I warn them to drop their sinister moves.
“I have further directed the Commissioner of Police to take pre-emptive action. The current peace and stability of our dear state must be sustained at all cost”, the governor noted.

Suspected gunmen on Wednesday night fired several shots at the Chairman of the Accord for Osogbo local government Hon Asimiyu Ajibola (aka Baba Isila) and his friends.
Governor Ademola Adeleke did not at any point in time reject the Invitation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) but he was blocked by the Marine Minister, Mr Gboyega Oyetola and Osun APC.
Governor Ademola Adeleke has denied allegations that he has concluded arrangements to procure weapons for thugs, accusing the Osun APC of already raising and deploying armed thugs terrorising and killing Accord members.
Governor Ademola Adeleke today continues the hosting of security meetings which started two days ago to preempt likely security threats.The various meetings started with internal security reviews followed by further consultations on aligning formal and informal security networks to strengthen security of lives and properties.
Governor Ademola Adeleke has received a resounding endorsement from the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP), Osun State Chapter, citing the administration’s remarkable commitment to pensioners’ welfare as the basis for their support ahead of the August 15 gubernatorial election.

Governor Ademola Adeleke has reassured Osun people that his government has taken proactive steps to secure Osun schools, urging the public to ignore recent false alarms about school kidnappings in some parts of the state.
The governor who described the rumour as the handiwork of evil opposition elements said fact checks from the border areas and across the state confirmed that there was no case of kidnappings.
“I task our people to go about their normal activities without fear. Our government has taken steps to secure our schools. The Ministry of Education and the relevant security agencies have worked out a security strategy that is being implemented”, the governor noted.
He reiterated that parents and guardians should not panic as the said alarm was false and the handiwork of opposition elements seeking to plunge the state into chaos.
The governor further updated the public about the armoured vehicles abandoned by the Oyetola administration in various locations, briefing the public that Armoured Personnel Carriers have been fully refurbished and ready for deployment.
The governor said his administration inherited the knocked down APCs in various locations, noting that they were reworked and rehabilitated for deployment in areas of need under joint operations by security agencies.
“The Oyetola administration inherited the APCs from the Aregbesola administration. The last administration however left them to rot. My government has rehabilitated them and the public will soon witness a new security plan to strengthen the security of lives and properties in Osun state”, the governor noted.
He warned against incitement to criminal conduct by evil opposition elements, warning that the local intelligence network is monitoring and watching the border towns and identified hot spots.
“No stone will be left unturned to guarantee the security of our schools, our pupils, residents, citizens and properties”, the governor added.

Governor Ademola Adeleke today reflected on the journey towards the August 15 governorship election and declared that “today and on all accounts, Osun has a divine goalkeeper at the goal post.
Amidst fiscal constraints, Governor Ademola Adeleke has today disbursed a total of Two Hundred and Four Million, Two Hundred and Seventy-five Thousand, two hundred and nine naira and eighty kobo (N204,275,209.80) to the next of kin of all staff who died in active service and whose documentation have been completed in the Pension Office.
