NEW SALARY STRUCTURE IN CIRCULATION IS FAKE.

The attention of the Osun State Government has been drawn to a viral post on a new salary scale for civil servants in the state. The post is not only false, but also misleading as every content in it does not emanate from the State Government.

Since coming to office, Governor Ademola Adeleke has demonstrated committed to the welfare of workers, and at the appropriate time, will unveil measures to cushion the effect of subsidy removal on civil servants and the larger public.

It is therefore advised that civil servants discountenance the purported new salary structure being conveyed in the viral post. It is the work of mischief makers trying to unnecessary arose expectations of workers and trigger disaffection.

The civil servants are assured of the commitment of Governor Ademola Adeleke to their welfare in line with the economic reality of the state. Civil servants and the general public should know that the Adeleke administration is already working on palliatives measures and will soon be put into effect to support them in this trying period.

Our attention has been drawn to a planted fake news about a purported private meeting between Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State and Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state. The concorted lies in the said story have no basis in truth as at no point did Governor Adeleke had any private talk with his Oyo state counterpart.

Governor Adeleke had visited the Oyo state Governor’s lodge to see the newly renovated Oyo State Government House as Osun state government is embarking on similar renovation of Osun Government House located within Asokoro. It was also an opportunity for both leaders to review state of relationship and chart a path to strengthen the Peoples Democractic Party within the South West zone including the issue of filling the vacancy existing within the party zonal leadership.

The interactions were in the open and at no point did the question of begging and prostration arose as there was nothing to plead and beg about. The venue was in the living room with photo opportunity. In the presence of everybody, the two leaders resolved to unite for the party in the zone, hence the need to call an emergency zonal meeting to hold later this week.

All insinuations about infighting either among Osun Government functionaries or otherwise are the handiwork of those profiting from the lack of substantive leadership for the party in the zone. There is no infighting within Governor Adeleke’s cabinet over the planned meeting nor any disagreement as to when and how to hold the zonal meeting.

The two Governors will surely feel embarrassed by the fake news as it was targeted at truncating genuine efforts to relaunch the party with a new leadership after recent happenings.

We therefore urge members of the PDP across the South West to ignore the fake news and focus on making a success of the forthcoming zonal meeting in the best interest of the party.

Mallam Olawale Rasheed,
Spokesperson to Osun State Governor.

Organized Labour under the auspices of Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), Osun State Council, has justified the ongoing staff audit in the state public service, commending Governor Adeleke for his courage and persistence.

In a press statement issued in Osogbo this morning, the TUC Chairman. Comrade Adekola Adebowale said critics of the exercise are denying the rights of the employer to review personnel structure and placements, arguing that we must cooperate now that necessary reviews ordered by the state Governor have been addressed.

The labor leader who condemned fifth columnists attempting to create distrusts between government and labour said the TUC will not allow those hiding under the guise of staff audit dispute to disrupt the honest progress being made by the Staff Audit Committee representing the Labour Movement in Osun State.

” We reject political interference from whatever quarters. We stand by the pro-labour government of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

“The exercise ( Staff Audit) helps to update records of personnel and removal of ghost workers are immediate benefits, which then creates job opportunities for real people” the Chairman stressed.

The Osun state government is already rehabilitating water works in major towns of the state while the 332 boreholes are emergency intervention projects to address acute water shortage in the State.

Responding to several issues raised by some stakeholders, the government through a statement by the Spokesperson to the Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, noted that rehabilitation of water works at Ede, Iwo, Osogbo, Ekende and others are already ongoing.

Governor Adeleke adopted two approaches namely the short term interventions which are the boreholes and the medium, and long term interventions which include the rehabilitation of water works. Both are ongoing simultaneously.

Across the 332 political wards in Osun, our people are accessing water supplies which according to global standards is expected to serve two million people.

On commissioners’ nominees, Governor Adeleke is deeply pro- women and quite gender-sensitive. It is too early to judge the administration on gender and affirmative action as less than 10 percent of statutory appointments have been made.

On Ipade Imole, the public is reassured that the public accountability platform will hold. Preparation has reached an advanced stage. Representatives of all critical stakeholders will be invited. Very soon, invitations will go out for this quarterly event.
