
Governor Adeleke Extols Retiring Appeal Court Judge Jimi-Bada Virtues, Described him as an Embodiment of Dignity and Judicial Conscience

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has extolled Hon. Justice Oluwakayode Jimi Bada as an embodiment of dignity and judicial conscience during a special valedictory court session held in honour of the retiring Presiding Justice of the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division on Friday.



Governor Adeleke, in his remark at the event held at the court premises in Lagos, said, “Justice Bada is an embodiment of dignity, sincerity, erudition and sanctity of judicial purism. In his long years within the bar and the bench, he stands out as one of the last set of towering traditional figures within the profession.”
The Osun State Governor who was represented at the valedictory court session by his aide and Chairman Special Adviser’s Forum in his cabinet, Dr Adekunle Akindele extol the Ile-Ife born retiring Jurist for “His fearlessness and consistency in the judicial process which endear him to many who crave for a judiciary that moderate and stabilizes the democratic process.”
He further said, “Justice Bada’s capacity to balance all trends and tendencies in the administration of Justice is a super quality that marks him out as a judicial leader of conscience.”
As a father to the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of the state in his administration, Governor Adeleke eulogized Justice Oluwakayode Jimi-Bada (OFR) as a “godfather and mentor to countless legal operatives who are doing wonderfully well in their various sectors.”
“Our father is a towering judicial figure who has done so much for the nation’s judiciary without gloating over it. Within a low profile mantra, he influenced the achievement of normalcy in an increasingly unstable society. His words of wisdom extends beyond legal realms to philosophical counselling for the upcoming generation. He exemplifies humility in strength and intellectual capacity.” Governor Adeleke stated.
After the creation of Osun State, the excellent jurist was one of the very first set of judges sworn-in by the first civilian Governor of Osun State, Alhaji Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke on 7th of August 1992 from where he grow through the ranks in different court divisions across the Federation before his retirement as the Presiding Justice, Court of Appeal, Lagos Division.
“On behalf of the government and people of Osun state, we congratulate you on your successful service to the fatherland. Your name is already written in judicial gold as your days in service spanning so many decades are golden and spectacular.” The Governor stated.
The valedictory session was chaired by the President of the Court of Appeal in Nigeria, Hon. Justice Monica B. Dongban-Mensem, and other dignitaries which includes, the Attorney-General of the Federation, Former Minister’s of Justices in Nigeria, Serving and Retired Supreme Court Justices, serving and retired Justices of the Court of Appeal, Head of Courts across the Federation, President of the Nigeria Bar Association, Body of Benchers, Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria, among many other legal luminaries.
