AKINTOLA was born to the famous SAWE FAMILY of ljamo in llesa, Osun State by Late Chief Gabriel Akintola Olowolagba (The Chief Sawe of llesa) and Late Mrs. Rebecca Akintola.

He attended L.A Primary School, Isedo and Oke-Bode Secondary Grammar School, Oke-Bode for his Elementary and Secondary School Education respectively.

He later proceeded to llesa Grammar School for his Higher School Certificate (H.S.C) between 1988 and 1989. He also attended the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University (O.A.U), Ile-Ife, Nigeria where he studied Law and was awarded the Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B HONS) in 1995/96 academic session).

He had his one year mandatory NYSC programme (In Adamawa State) in 1997/98 and served in the Law Firm of TAYO JEGEDE & CO, Muib Road, Jimeta, Yola.

He gained admission to the Nigerian Law School, Bwari, Abuja in 1998 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1999 as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. Jola Akintola had his tutelage with the Law Firm of Dosu Babatunde & Co., Ayeso Street, Ilesa and later became the Head of Chambers (H.O.C) of the Law Firm before he established his own Law Firm, JOLA AKINTOLA & CO (Barrister, Solicitors and Property Consultant) at F. 50, Odo-Iro Street, llesa, Osun State in 2007.

He was appointed as the Secretary of the Transition Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Ilesa branch in 2001. Presently, he is the Chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), llesa Branch.

On the politician realm, he was the Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in llesa East Local Government between 2002 and 2004 and later became the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of PDP in Ilesa East Local Government in 2017. He was reappointed as the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of PDP in llesa East Local Government in 2022 and handed over to the new Chairman in May, 2023. He is presently the State Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of the same party (PDP) in Osun State.

Jola Akintola was appointed and served as the Secretary of the Caretaker Committee of Ilesa East Local Government Council between July, 2003 and February, 2004. He was re-appointed and served as the Secretary of the same Council (Ilesa East Local Government) between April, 2004 and February, 2007. Barrister Jola Akintola also served as the Chairman of the llesa East Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) between November 2008 and June, 2011.

He was the Chairman of the Transport Committee inaugurated by the Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, in December, 2022.

At the religious level, Jola Akintola is the Legal Adviser of Ifedapo Society of Otapete Methodist Cathedral, Ilesa. He was the Legal Adviser of Otapete Circuit of the Methodist Church Nigeria.

He was the Assistant Diocesan Legal Adviser of Ilesa Diocese of the Methodist Church, Nigeria between 2008 and 2012 and the Diocesan Legal Adviser since 2012 till date.

He is married to Mrs. D.A Akintola and the marriage is blessed with promising children.
