Osun state Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment ,Oluomo Kolapo Alimi has dismissed as baseless and mischievous the allegation by a human rights group that he was at one time granted administrative bail under the government of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

Describing it as a politically motivated mischief and a lie of the highest order, Oluomo Alimi made the denial today while reacting to the said story written and masterminded by a rights group under the aegis of Centre For Human Rights and Social Justice (CHRSJ) in which Alimi was alleged along with others of diverting the LG allocations accrued to Osun State between Jan 2011 to Dec 2014 by illegally suspending the democratic structure in the Council areas of the state making it easy for his then boss and Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesila and others to divert the state respurces including the ones from the LGs to the tune of over #600B

In a clear cut rebuttal to affirm his position on the baseless lies and fabrications among others, the Information Commissioner said

“While I see and regard this another pathologically laden mischief and blackmail which will not in anyway be a matter of concern to me, it will, however, be out of place for me to keep quiet by not offering a cogent denial so as to insulate me from members of the public of being guilty as alleged by the so called human rights group.

Be that as it may and with all sense of sincerity I, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, the then Commissioner for Local Govt and Chieftaincy Affairs under the administration of His Excellency, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola dismissed as spurious, unserious and laughable when I read the said statement issued and signed by one, Comrade Abiola Ganiyu, the CHRSJs Deputy General Secretary made available on Sunday, 12th Oct.2025 falsely and maliciously accusing me.

“While I am not new to being falsely accused on a matter of this nature but which at the end of the day usually turned out to be an exercise in futility for those behind such incessant mischiefs, I make bold to say that, at no time or the other ,that that I was and still under any administrative bail by any anti grant agency while serving as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftsincy Matters under the administration of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and even now as falsely and shamelessly alleged and alluded to by the human rights group and made available to the public today .

“The blackmailers behind the allegation are only doing so out of their desperate need to malign and impugn on my good reputation ,an attribute which, on a daily basis, is giving and making them to lose sleep.

“To this end, I am using this opportunity to tell them that, I, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi is ready for any investigation, anytime, anyday regarding this baseless and unfounded allegation” ended the statement
