Dr. Basiru Tokunbo Salami, a devout Muslim was born on the 17″ day of October, 1963into a responsible family in Ede, Osun State.

The down to earth Dr. B.T Salam who hails from Ede, started his education at L.A Primary School, Agbongbe, Ede in 1973. He was at jesha Muslim Grammar School, llesha between 1979 and 1983 for his Senior Secondary School Certificate. Between 1987 and 1991, Dr. Basiru Tokunbo Salami was at Ogun State University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, where he obtained his BSC in Geography and Regional Planning, after which he got his MSc in Urban and Regional Planning from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in 1998.

In 2005, he was again at the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife shortly after which he obtained his Phd. also in Urban and Regional Planning. The happily married Dr. Basiru Tokunbo Salami has managed several positions in his illustrious working career. He was once the Town Planning Officer, Osun State Local Government Service Commission.

Dr. Basiru Tokunbo Salami was at a point, the Director of Foundation, Diploma, Adeleke University, Ede, sun State. He was also Council Member, Federal College of Education, Potiskum, Yobe State and also Council Member, National Institute for Sports Surulere Lagos.

On the political scene, Dr. Basiru Tokunbo Salami, a grassroots politician, was the Executive Chairman, Ede South Local Government Area between 2007 and 2010.

He was a former Deputy State Chairman, People’s Democratic Party, Osun State and a former member, PDP Caretaker Committee in Osun State.

Dr. Basiru Tokunbo Salami who loves reading is currently the Hon. Commissioner for Special Duties and Regional Integration in osun state.
