Revenue Generation: Osun Adopts Unified Ticketing System for Commercial Motorcycle/Tricycle Riders.

In a bid to avoid leakages, extortion and multiple ticketing, Osun State Government has approved a unified ticketing system for commercial motorcycle and tricycle operators across the State.

This is the fallout of a meeting between the State Government and the leadership of Commercial Motorcycle Operators popularly known as Okada riders moderated by the Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Sesan Oyedele held at the State Secretariat.

Hon. Oyedele while addressing the gathering noted that the present administration of Senator Ademola Adeleke will not fold its arms while people are being extorted by disgruntled elements.

He explained that as much as the present administration is determined to boost revenue of the State through the Ministry of Transportation, government will not give room for leakages and extortion.

Hon. Oyedele stated further that the Ademola Adeleke administration will continue to do all within the means of government to ensure that no commercial operator is cheated.

While stressing that the present government will continue to foster unity among the association, Hon. Oyedele declared that henceforth, every Okada rider will pay #100 per day, while every tricycle operator(Marwa) will pay #200 per day without any additional fees.

Also speaking at the meeting, the Chairman, of the Okada riders association in Osun State, Comrade Sikiru Ayobami also known as (Ado-Ignona) thanked the Commissioner for his timely intervention on the situation.

He assured the State government that peace and unity will continue to reign within the Association, stressing that the leadership will not show favoritism to anybody but will be fair to all.

Also present at the meeting were the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr Isiaka Yahaya, the Director, Transport Operations, Engr. Ayodeji Oyewole among other Directors of the Ministry.
