Olubadan Designate Endorses Governor Ademola Adeleke for Second Term

NEWS RELEASE

IBADAN – 02/09/2025 – Osunstate.gov.ng

The newly appointed 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland designate, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja, has formally endorsed the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, for a second term in office.

Oba Ladoja, a former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and former Governor of Oyo State, gave his endorsement while receiving Governor Adeleke during a congratulatory visit to his Ibadan residence ahead of his official coronation scheduled for September 26, 2025.

Speaking warmly as he received the Governor, the Olubadan drew striking parallels between his own political journey and that of Governor Adeleke, noting that both of them had served as Senators and Governors, while Adeleke now holds the revered title of Asiwaju of Edeland.

“Every day we hear of your good works in Osun State, and we are proud of the progress you are bringing to your people. Your developmental strides should continue beyond 2026 because no one can stop the good work you are doing. I will personally attend your second-term swearing-in as Olubadan of Ibadan, because one good term deserves another,” the monarch declared.

The Olubadan further commended Adeleke’s leadership with heartfelt words:

“Your performance as a Governor elates me. Osun is a difficult state to govern but you have changed the narrative. You are doing many wonderful things and I can see Osun people are happy with you. Keep it up. My prayer for you is that you will lead Osun to new and greater heights. You will overcome all obstacles on your path of governance. You will continue to shine as a leader of your people. The good Lord will uphold and protect you.”

Reflecting on the Adeleke family’s legacy of service, the monarch added:

“You are from a family of excellent people. Your father, Senator Adeleke, your brother, my own Serubawon, Senator and former Governor. Thank you for keeping the flag flying.”

While speaking, Governor Adeleke joyfully congratulated Oba Ladoja on his ascension to the throne of Ibadanland, describing it as well-deserved and historic. He pledged to honor the revered monarch with a befitting celebration during his coronation.

“Kabiyesi, I deeply appreciate your guidance and wise counsel. Your leadership legacy continues to inspire me in Osun State. I pray for long life, filled with peace, joy, happiness, and divine blessings on the throne of your forefathers,” Governor Adeleke said.

Governor Adeleke was accompanied on the visit by the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Teslim Igbalaye; Chief of Staff, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye; Yeyelua Modupeola Sanni-Adeleke; and several Commissioners, including Otunba Tola Faseru, Hon. Olatunji Ayofe, Hon. Biyi Odunlade, and Hon. Soji Ajeigbe.
