Rt. Hon. Ropo Orewole was born in Ile- Ife on Sunday, the 1st day of November, 1964, His father, Pa James Adisa Oyewole, hails from Akeran compound Ilare quarters, lle-lfe, while his mother, Mrs. Moyosore Elizabeth Oyewole is from Jiore compound, Okerewe quarters from the same ancient city of lle-Ife.

He started his education career at St. Peter’s Anglican Primary School, Iremo, Ile-Ife between 1971 and 1976. He was in Oluorogbo High School, Road 7, Ile-Ife between 1977 and 1982 for his Secondary School Education and Oyo (Now Osun) State College of Arts and Science, lle-Ife, for the Advance Level General Certificate.

He proceeded to Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife between 1985 and 1988 where he obtained B.A (Hons.) Religious Studies and Masters Degree in Public Administration (MPA) from the same University in 1995. In his quest for knowledge and conviction for a better tomorrow, he went back to the same University to study Law between 2007 and 2011. He was called to the Nigeria Bar as Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court in 2012. He later added Master of Law (LL.M) to it in 2014.

On the political scene, he was the Ife Central Local Government Financial Secretary of the Democratic Party of Nigeria (DPN) between 1991 and 1993. Ife Central Local Government Secretary of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) between 1999 and 2001. Secretary, Ife Central Local Government of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) between 2001 and 2002.

His political profile swelled as a (3) three time member of the Osun State House of Assembly, representing the good people of Ife Central Local Government State Constituency between 2002 and 2011, where he served in different capacities as member of the House (2002-2003), Majority Leader (2003-2007) and Deputy Speaker (2007-2011). He is also a Member, State Implementation Committee, Community Services/Women & Youth Employment, Osun State of the Federal Government Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme (SURE-P) between October, 2012 and May, 2015 Senior Legislative Aide (SLA) to Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi (OFR), the Senator representing Osun East Senatorial District in the 9th National Assembly between June, 2019 and May, 2023.

He is a philanthropist of note, very resourceful and a core PDP stalwart of both local and national pedigree.

The kind hearted and easy-going Rt. Hon. Ropo Oyewole is happily married and the union is blessed with promising children.
