Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke on Wednesday flagged off the construction and tarring of roads linking Oromun, Idasa, and Adeti communities, with assurance of completion within the next four months.

The Governor, represented by the Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. Basiru Tokunbo Salam, highlighted his administration’s giant strides in road construction across Ijesaland emphasizing that the administration has embarked on over nine major road projects in Ilesa West, including:

  • Dualisation of Ereja Square (Roundabout) – Imo Brewery, Ilesa/Akure Expressway (ongoing).
  • Rehabilitation of Ita Ofa – Oromu, Araromi (Market Gate).
  • Rehabilitation of Atakumosa Market – Obiteni, Omo Ofe Road.
  • Rehabilitation of Ademoroti Road, Ilesa.
  • Rehabilitation of Ajimoko – INEC Road, Ilesa.
  • Rehabilitation of Oke Ese – Aderu Junction, Oke Oyin Bepo Akata.
  • Construction of Ogbon Tun Oke USA Community – Anaye Road.
  • Construction of Imose Street – Ireti Ayo, with adjoining Justice Street, Ilesa.
  • Construction of INEC Osogbo/Ilesa Road.

The Governor noted that his foresight is to ensure the dividends of democracy reach every part of Osun State stressing that the ongoing dualisation project is already in top gear and will be completed within the shortest possible time.

He further stated that his administration prioritizes the use of local human and material resources, and therefore called on youths and residents of the host communities to cooperate with contractors for smooth delivery of the project.

Today’s flag-off of the 1.1km road within Oromun, Idasa, and Adeti communities is aimed at ensuring improved road networks, better living standards, and enhanced economic opportunities for the people. The Governor expressed confidence that the contractors will deliver the project within four months.

Governor Adeleke also commended the efforts of the Osun State SUBEB Chairman and other notable leaders in Ijesaland for their contributions towards ensuring that critical development projects are extended to Ijesaland, just as in other parts of the State. He further assured that his administration will remain relentless in constructing more roads in the overall interest of the people.
