The Executive Governor of Osun State, His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, has been honoured with the Distinguished Excellence Award on Social Development and Humanitarian Services by the Nigeria Association of Social Workers (NASOW).

The prestigious recognition was presented during the association’s Golden Jubilee Anniversary, held in conjunction with its 40th National Conference and Annual General Meeting. The event brought together leading social work professionals, scholars, and public officials from across the country to celebrate five decades of professional social service in Nigeria.

According to NASOW, the award was conferred on Governor Adeleke in acknowledgment of his tireless commitment to the welfare of Osun workers, his humanitarian policies, and his transformative social development agenda, which have collectively improved livelihoods and restored dignity to the working population in the state.

The Governor, who was represented at the event by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Barrister Kolapo Alimi, expressed profound gratitude to the leadership and members of NASOW for the honour.

Barrister Alimi, conveying the Governor’s message, described Osun workers as “the backbone of the state’s progress and development,” noting that Governor Adeleke’s administration remains committed to prioritising their welfare, prompt payment of salaries, and the continuous enhancement of working conditions.

“Our administration recognises the vital role of workers as the true engine of development,” the Governor stated.

“We will continue to promote fairness, reward diligence, and strengthen social welfare systems that touch lives across Osun State.”

NASOW leadership commended Governor Adeleke for his people-focused governance style and social reform initiatives, affirming that his administration’s policies reflect the true spirit of humanitarian leadership that the association seeks to promote nationwide.

This recognition adds to the growing list of national honours and commendations received by Governor Adeleke for his inclusive leadership, pro-worker stance, and commitment to sustainable social development, further cementing his image as a governor of the people, for the people, and with the people.
