Adeleke Counters Opposition, Says Osun people are enjoying good governance

OSOGBO– 30/11/2025– osunstate.gov.ng

Governor Ademola Adeleke has re-asserted the positive effect of his administration on all sectors of Osun society, stating that Osun and its people have been experiencing impactful governance in the last three years.

In a statement by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the governor highlighted the monumental physical infrastructural development across Osun and priority for the welfare of the people as hallmark of his transformative leadership, adding that he has reinvigorated hopes and bolstered the economic prospect of the state with good governance.

He described critics as “unrepentant opposition activists” who have refused to accept the commendable progress that Osun state has made under Governor Adeleke, urging Osun people not to be persuaded by the rhetorics of people who did nothing but inflict pains on them when they had the opportunity to govern in the past.

“In Osun state today, it is beyond argument that Governor Adeleke has delivered for the people. No matter where you look, the effect of good governance is manifestly obvious and Osun people are acknowledging the remarkable progress that Osun has made under Governor Adeleke,” Mallam Rasheed noted in a statement.

“The reasonable thing for an opposition party, particularly the one that failed grossly when Osun people trusted it with power in the past, is to silently accept the reality, not play on the emotion of the people. Unlike the APC, the Adeleke administration choose to work for the people– paying up accumulated wage debt, ensuring career progression for workers along with financial benefits, fast-tracking bond issuances for pensioners and supporting their health with the first of its kind expansive healthcare coverage, among other improved welfare packages.

“In terms of infrastructure, Osun has never had it this good as every parts of the state is witnessing presence of government. From bridges to new roads, Governor Adeleke is connecting communities and people through massive road construction projects. Healthcare centres infrastructure are upscaled to meet the World Health Organisation (WHO) standard and offer better services to the people. Public schools infrastructures are renewed and equipped to enhance learning just as the Adeleke administration procured 31 new tractors with implements, which the APC failed to buy a single one in 12 years, to aid farmers in mechanisation and boost food production.”

Mallam Rasheed said the achievements of Governor Adeleke are visible and verifiable, dismissing the assessment of Mr. Sunday Akere as “defective and error -laced”.

“I doubt any reasonable mind will take any assessment on governance coming from Mr. Sunday Akere seriously given his past. Mr. Akere shared a history in the past that Osun people did everything to get away from. It is not surprising that he’s mistaking the failures that defined the governments he was a partaker for a government that has so far being superlative in terms of delivery for the people,” he said.

The Spokesperson also rejected the narrative of the Osun Masterminds on governance in the state, urging the APC funded group to come out of its illusion and embrace the reality that no amount of propaganda and disjointed narrative will lure Osun people back to the past of pains and misery.

“Ordinarily, one would have expected an academia to be honourable enough to stick to the truth in any engagement, but I assumed that Prof. Wasiu Oyedokun-Alli’s hustle for federal appointment after the failed bid to clinch a seat on the South West Development Commission made him vulnerable to play the role of ‘devil advocate’,” Mallam Rasheed noted.

“Governance is ongoing non-stop in Osun state and if there is anyone fixated on the politics of 2026, it is the patrons of TOM. Governor Adeleke remains ever committed to working for the people and will not be distracted by politicians disguising as civil group. Mr Governor urges Osun people to remain alert and not fall for the antics of those who see them as bargaining tools for their selfish personal benefits.”
