Kingsley Omoyeni

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Bashir Bello has disclosed that the Ademola Adeleke administration has constructed about 75km of roads in just one year in office.

Engr. Bello added that the roads were carefully selected across the three Senatorial districts of the State which include all the Local Government Areas.

The Permanent Secretary stated these during an interactive session with journalists held in his office at the Secretariat in commemoration of the Governor’s one year in office.

He said the Governor instructed the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure to ensure that no local government is left out in the road intervention of the present administration, stressing that the Governor is determined to attract investors into the State through good Infrastructures.

Responding to questions on how the administration has been funding the projects, the number one technocrat at Ministry of Works explained that the Governor has not borrowed any money in executing any project in the State.

The Permanent Secretary who saluted the genuine passion of the Governor to improve on every sector of the State, explained that the patronage of the indigenous contractors has saved the State a lot of cost on projects.

He said the Governor specifically instructed that local contractors be used for the projects as a way boosting the local economy and create more jobs for youths across the State.

While urging residents of the State to always cooperate with the construction workers on sites across the State, Engr. Bello hinted of more infrastructural projects in the coming years, stressing arrangements have been concluded to turn the State into a big construction site.
