MINISTRY OF FEDERAL AFFAIRS

  • We Will intervene to boost security architecture of Osun State – Federal Ministry of Police Affairs.
  • Many More Police Officers will be deployed to Osun

.

The Commissioner, during the visit extended the appreciation of His Excellency, Governor Ademola Adeleke to the Federal Government through the Ministry of Police Affairs for its numerous efforts in combatting criminal activities across the federation, most especially the south west with reference to Osun State as the transition route for commuters from the western part to the South South and to the Northern regions.

The Commissioner seized the opportunity to plead with the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry to Consider Osun as a priority in their transformational reforms for the Police sector. Which includes giving some of the colleges a facelift and upgrade to allow students have a conducive environment for learning citing the Mobile Police College at ILA Orangun, which used to be a convergence point and training centre for police officers before deployments nationwide.

Mrs Adenike Adeleke further pleaded for the deployments of more police officers into Osun State to corroborate the efforts of the existing officers and its leadership.

In his response, the Permanent Secretary, Dr Nasir Sani Gwarzo, thanked the honorable commissioner for Federal Affairs for visiting the Ministry and applauded the Governor, Sen Ademola Adeleke for opening a ministry as such and appointing a commissioner to interface directly with federal government ministries which is a rare development even in other states of the federation. And the Ministry will help solve problems of the past where agencies and parastatals find it difficult to navigate the intricacies of transcending dividends of democracy to the people at the grassroots level.

Dr Gwarzo expressed his willingness to ensure Osun State does not lag behind in any of the reforms and initiatives of the federal ministry of Police affairs and that he will do all within his power to boost the security architecture of Osun State through criminal surveillance, combating crimes and covering all security loops.

While assuring the state government on behalf of the Minister, Dr Gwarzo emphatically stated that Osun State will enjoy the deployment of police officers in considerable numbers and what ever security threats the state is facing will be a thing of the past.

The Osun State Delegation was led by the honorable commissioner, and other members of the team are the Senior Special Assistant on Federal Affairs, Oluomo Abiodun Oladoyin, and Senior Special Assistant on Climate Change, Engr Adedapo.
