Osun Health Facilities Upgrade: Government Warns Mischief Makers

Osun State government has advised members of the public to be wary of some unscrupulous elements brandishing old pictures of the state of some healthcare centers, ostensibly to distract attention from the ongoing rehabilitation of health facilities in the state, describing the mischief makers as shameless lame ducks with no traceable records of positive impacts in the state.

Special adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Health, Dr Akindele Adekunle accused opposition elements of orchestrating unintelligent blackmail against the state government that is making genuine efforts to inject life back to the health facilities after a very long period of neglect by the outgone APC administration.

Dr Akindele, while reiterating Governor Ademola Adeleke’s readiness to revamp health facilities, also assured that the facilities are not only being rehabilitated but are equally being upgraded to conform with global standards of primary and secondary healthcare system.

According to him, overhauling and upgrading of the facilities are to be carried out in phases, with the primary health centers across the local governments, mostly in the rural areas, topping first phase of government priorities, while the secondary healthcare centers are slated for second phase.

Akindele wondered what APC did with the billions of funds quoted to have been expended on revamping the health facilities, pictures of which they are now shamelessly circulating against a government that came barely a year after more than a decade of their callous administration.

“It is crass irony, highway shamelessness and almost insanity taken too far, for some unbridled looters to start hitting haste buttons against the people oriented government of Governor Ademola Adeleke, on projects the uncaring government of yesterday ought to have completed with funds evidently made available to them, without moving any muscle of institutional empathy to complete them.

The seasoned medical practitioner asked the defeated opposition party to bury itself in shame, rather than taunting a government that is committing frantic efforts into clearing gory memories of their neglect of essential developmental sectors by the rejected opposition.

Dr Akindele further assured residents of the state of commitment of the state government under the watch of His Excellency, Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke to improved healthcare system, with each facility upgraded with 24 hours power source, portable water, essential medical equipments, all encapsulated in a very conducive environment.

Signed.
Dr Akindele Adekunle
Special Adviser on Public Health
Osun State Government.
