OSUN TO HOST AGRICULTURAL INVESTMENT CONFERENCE IN APRIL – COMMISSIONER… AS AMBASSADORS, DIPLOMATS AGREES PARTNERSHIP WITH OSUN TO UNLEASH AGRICULTURE POTENTIALS

The Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security in Osun state, Hon. Tola Faseru has announced plan by the State Government to host an agricultural investment conference in April this year in line with the Adeleke administration goal of tapping into the opportunities in the sector.

Hon. Faseru made the announcement on Tuesday in Abuja, noting that the Osun State Government has successfully secured cooperation and partnerships with with Ambassadors from 25 different countries following series of closed-door meeting sessions.

He emphasised the importance of foreign investors in the private sector tapping into Osun state abundant potentials in the agriculture sector, declaring the readiness of the Adeleke administration to provide the enabling environment for investors to thrive.

“We’re committed to creating an enabling environment for investors to thrive,” he noted, outlining the various efforts of the government in removing impediments that has scared away investors away from investing their money in the state.

Providing more weight to the Osun government investment drive, a Principal Officer in the Nigerian Senate, Senator Lere Oyewumi assured the potential investor that the state is open for investment and will support their successes, adding that “Osun is an agricultural hub of South Western Nigeria, with a high ease of doing business rating, positive investment climate, and policies promoting agro-industrialization.”

“We’ve tackled our infrastructure deficits and have functioning free trade zones. Osun is open for business,” the federal lawmaker noted.

Senator Oyewumi conveyed the assurance of Governor Adeleke to the diplomatic missions of his willingness to receive all Ambassadors in Osun State, stressing that “we acknowledge that we cannot achieve our goals alone, which is why we’re inviting participants from around the world to join us at the Agriculture Investment Conference – Osun 2025.”

In their responses, the Tunisian Ambassador to Nigeria, Amb Mohsen Anlit, the Cuban Ambassador to Nigeria, Amb Miriam Morales, and other ambassadors unanimously agreed to visit Osun State and invite their private sector investors and governments to participate in the conference.

As the Osun State Government prepares to host the Agricultural Investment Conference, the stage is set for a fruitful collaboration between the state and international investors and with its favorable business environment and vast agricultural potential, Osun state is poised to become a hub for agricultural investment in Nigeria.
