OSOGBO – 23/08/2025 – Osunstate.gov.ng

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Elder Kolapo Lawal, a prominent leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ila Local Government, describing his death as a painful loss to the party and the state.

Governor Adeleke noted that Elder Lawal was a steadfast political figure whose dedication, loyalty, and wisdom greatly contributed to the growth and stability of the PDP in Ila and across Osun State. He described the late party elder as a unifying force who nurtured many within the political family with his fatherly guidance.

“The news of Elder Kolapo Lawal’s demise came to me as a rude shock. He was not only a committed leader but also a reliable elder statesman whose love for our great party and Osun State was exemplary. His departure has created a vacuum that will be difficult to fill,” the Governor said.

Governor Adeleke extended heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, the PDP family in Ila Local Government, and the entire people of Osun State, urging them to take solace in the impactful life he lived. He prayed that God grants Elder Lawal eternal rest and gives his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

“On behalf of the government and good people of Osun State, I mourn the passing of Elder Kolapo Lawal. His dedication, service, and mentorship will forever remain in our hearts, and we will continue to honor his legacy through commitment to the growth and unity of our party and state,” the Governor added.
