The Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has congratulated Muslim Ummah in the state and beyond on the successful completion of this year’s Ramadan period, describing the 29-day fasting period as a divine grace for spiritual renewal.
Governor Ademola Adeleke has appealed for closer inter-faith unity and peaceful coexistence among residents of all faiths as the Muslim ummah celebrates the commencement of new Hijrah calendar.
The Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has commiserated with the Muslim Community in Iwo on the passing of a renowned scholar, Dr. Abdulrahman–Rasheed Buwaeb.
Governor Ademola Adeleke has responded to the appeal of Ijesa Muslim Community on the ongoing Ilesa road dualisation, reassuring Muslim faithful that there is no plan to demolish Ilesa Central Mosque.

Osun State Governor, Sen. Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has approved the Free Train ride for all his citizens residing in Lagos, Ogun and Oyo states who are willing to celebrate the forthcoming Eid El Kabir (Ileya Festival ) in Osun State.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Osogbo on Friday, the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Rev. Bunmi Jenyo disclosed that the State Government has concluded arrangements for the services with the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC).
This, according to him, is to ease transportation stress and enable those who are interested to celebrate this year’s Eid El Kabir (Ileya Festival) with their families and loved ones in Osun State, to do so, free of charge.
According to the Commissioner, “as part of his efforts to make life easier for his people, the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has provided free train rides for Osun indigenes living in Lagos State, Ogun State and Oyo State willing to celebrate the Ileya festival with their families in Osun State”.
“The Imole free train ride will depart the Iddo-terminus in Lagos on Friday, 14th June, 2024 by 10am with stop-overs at designated train stations in Ogun and Oyo States to pick passengers and is expected to arrive at the Osogbo train station by 6pm”.
“The return trip from Osogbo railway terminus to Lagos will be on Wednesday, 19th June, 2024 by 12 noon”.
The State Government therefore enjoined citizens of Osun to avail themselves of this opportunity to visit the state and assures them of adequate security inside the train.

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has warned against religious conflict and confrontations in the state, affirming that all adherents of various religions should operate peacefully.
Responding to the altercation between the Oluwo of Iwoland and the traditional religious worshippers association on the celebration of Isese festival, Governor Adeleke deployed his Special Adviser on Security, Mr Samuel Ojo to Iwo for urgent interface with both sides.
The Special Adviser who was at the palace at Iwo met various stakeholders including a telephone conversation with Oluwo who was out of town.
He also had interactions with some traditionalists who had vowed to converge at Iwoland to challenge the traditional ruler who had reportedly banned traditionalists from his domain.
“I came down on the directive of Mr Governor. I spoke with Kabiyesi, Oluwo and he promised to ensure peace and security though he is out of town. I interacted some other traditional leaders not far from palace.
” The message is that peaceful co-existence is a must and any group that breaches peace of the state will have security operatives to contend with.
” We have taken all neccesary security precautions . The traditionalists are free to exercise their fundamental human rights. They must act within the bound of law. The Governor has also declared Monday 21st as a public holiday to commemorate the 2023 Isese Day Festival” the Security Adviser noted.
